Collection: Inspirational retail
Stromness Museum has worked closely with to five Orkney artists and creative practitioners, who have used the Museum collections, in particular our natural history collection collections as inspiration.
- Fashion Designer Kirsteen Stewart has created a range of bags, scarves, purses and snoods which have used the natural history collections for inspiration.
- Illustrator Britt Harcus has created gift cards and a weekly planner featuring many of Orkney’s well loved birds and animals.
- Artist Colin Kirkpatrick has created a bespoke design which weaves a subtle narrative between the artefacts and museum-based experiences such as our popular Snorkel Safaris.
- 3D model maker Mark Newton has produced a keyring based on his earlier model of the museum’s Neolithic ‘Buddo’ human figurine.
- Creative practitioner Claire Kirkpatrick has created fridge magnets of Stromness Museum’s iconic building frontage.
