Does using the online shop support Stromness Museum?

The Museum is an independent charitable trust and every purchase helps support the charitable objectives of the Museum.

Is your site secure?

We strive to make shopping online at Stromness Museum as safe as possible. We have in place security systems and encryption technology to help ensure the security of your personal information. All information is encrypted and transmitted using Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol. If you visit our store the padlock icon is displayed in the address bar of your browser, next to the web address that starts with https://. This shows that the connection to our store uses TLS.

Due to Covid are you taking any additional precautions when posting items bought in the online shop?

We follow Scottish Government guidance at all times. As the situation is evolving over time this many have an impact on our delivery services so we ask that customers check the shop site for the latest information.

How do I check the status of my order or track a shipment?

If your order does not arrive within the advised delivery times please contact us by emailing shop@stromnessmuseum.org.uk

Will I receive confirmation that you have received my order?

Yes, you will receive an automated confirmation email if your order has been successful.

Do you offer returns postage?

We do not cover the cost of returning an item unless it is faulty or we have made a mistake. Please check our returns policy for more information.

What should I do if an item is missing from my order?

If an item is missing from your order, please contact the Museum on 01856 850025 or email shop@stromnessmuseum.org.uk. Our hours vary during the year so please check our website for the current opening hours.

Please let us know exactly what’s wrong with your order. Remember to include your order number and full name as this will help us speed up the search for your order details.

Can I claim a VAT refund for goods purchased online?

Please be advised if your delivery address is not within the UK, you may be subject to import duties and taxes which are levied once shipment reaches your country.
